Abstract

Mental health is a vital aspect of our lives and the source of stability for the human being. Mental-health is affected by past traumas, daily interactions, and natural causes; hence we have to maintain the person’s balance to avoid falling into an unrecoverable hole. In MindTime, we will target the therapists and mental health patients as well as the general public to spread awareness. The mobile app will provide self-monitoring, and psychological first aid through the utilization of emotional intelligence through audio analysis, and natural language processing and computer vision.

1.1 Purpose of this document

The purpose of this document is to determine the functional and non- functional requirements for the Mental-Health application MindTime. Most of the people neglect their mental health and don’t often think about how important it is in our life and how it affects everything on a daily basis. Therefore MindTime can be used to help people keep track of their mental health and facilitate the process of therapy. The app will provide self-monitoring, and psychological first aid through the utilization of emotional intelligence through audio analysis, natural language processing and computer vision. In MindTime, the target audience are the therapists, mental health patients as well as the general public to spread awareness.

1.2 Scope of this document

This document is meant for the individuals who are concerned about their mental health status and are willing to maintain it, as well as improve it by getting online therapy or keeping track of their mental health overall. The app will target the psychiatrist who wants to follow up with their patients using new and modern CBT care methods and help physicians in the field with a clearer and more creative way than personal notes and personal assistants. The app will also target a wide variety of people who are involved in mental health management and others who are curious about mental disorders.

1.3 System Overview

This software is meant to help people who have a stigma about therapy to get help on the go and keep track of their mental health status from anywhere using their mobile device. This software shall be used by people who want to break the stigma of therapy without all the society complexities.

1.4 System Scope

• The system shall have the ability to detect symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder.

• The system shall be able to detect signs of self harm or self harm ideation.

• The system will have different users (Patient, Therapists, Admin)

• Therapist will be able to review the patient’s diary upon acceptance from the patient.

• Immediate alert shall be sent to the emergency contact defined by the user upon detection of any signs of self harm.

• The system shall be able to extract the user’s emotions through their diary.
