Abstract

Alert is a mobile application designed to revolutionize crime reporting and enhance community safety. With an intuitive interface and robust features, Alert enables users to report incidents easily and securely, fostering proactive engagement in crime prevention efforts. The application promotes transparency and collaboration in addressing security concerns. Through geotagging and multimedia capabilities, users can provide detailed information, including photos, ensuring accurate documentation of incidents. The app provides a trained model which preprocess submited photos to detect any danger within it (weapons, blood, …etc), also provides a routing algorithm to any destination based on the safest path out there free from any danger based on recent reports. By leveraging the power of technology, Alert empowers individuals to play an active role in building safer communities, fostering trust between citizens and law enforcement, and ultimately contributing to the deterrence and reduction of crime rates.

System Objectives

• decreasing crime rates: by creating community that notify each other with any witnessed crime

• Quick Incident Reporting: by creating easy usable user friendly interface that user can submit any incident at the moment

System Scope

The proposed system aims to provide a user-friendly and efficient platform for the public to report and communicate incidents, and reroute users to safer areas based on their destinations, enhancing community safety and awareness. The scope encompasses the following key features and functionalities:

User Registration and Authentication:

• Users can create accounts securely and log in to the app to access reporting functionalities.

Incident Reporting:

• The app allows users to report various types of incidents, including but not limited to theft, vandalism, assault, and suspicious activities.

• Users can provide detailed information such as the location, time, and a description of the incident.

Media Upload:

• Users have the option to attach photos to supplement their incident reports. Real-time Location Services:

• The app utilizes GPS technology to capture and include the user’s real-time location when reporting an incident.

Anonymous Reporting:

• To encourage widespread participation, the app supports anonymous reporting, ensuring user privacy and safety.

Push Notifications:

• Users receive timely notifications about relevant safety alerts, updates on reported incidents.

Customized Routing:

• app routes users to their specified destination based on the safest route.

Object detection model:

• app uses yolov5 object detection model to validate photos by detecting any danger in photos such as weapons
