Abstract

Periodontal disease (PD) is characterised by gingival inflammation, connective tissue loss, or alveolar bone degradation. It’s the world’s sixth most common inflammatory disease. Periodontal disease is the leading cause of tooth loss. Clinical examination and radiograph analysis are two of the most popular approaches used nowadays to diagnose Periodontal disease. Due to the constraints of the standard diagnostic paradigm, inaccuracy due to human error, and conflicting judgements by various examiners. As a result, more consistent method of identifying PD is required. Because of advancements in machine learning research, automated medical support systems are in high demand for detecting periodontitis, and early detection may postpone the beginning of tooth loss. The key concept of our proposed system is to diagnose periodontal disease from X-ray images using Deep Learning algorithms. The computer-assisted system will determine whether the image is periodontal or not, and by applying fuzzy rules the system will be able to detect the severity as well as the grade of the case.

1.1 Purpose

The purpose of the Software Design Description document is to record design information so that the software design can be represented. It will give the team a full explanation of the system architecture and design, as well as a review of the requirements and a system overview. It’s also essential for interacting with stakeholders in the design process which are Dentists and patients.

1.2 Scope

The Software Design Document’s goal is to promote software development by giving a fully described system design. Not only is there a specified procedure for designing and developing the system, but there are also critical specifics for the programm and system being produced.

1.3 Overview

The Software design document will describe in details the architecture of the A deep learning system to Diagnosis and Predict periodontally teeth System. The first section is the introduction which will discuss the document’s purpose, scope, and overview. In the second section we will talk about the systems overview, scope, goals and timeline. In the third section the system’s design viewpoints are discussed. It includes the following (context, composition, logical, patterns use, algorithm, interaction, and interface view point). While in the fourth section; the Data Design, which consist of data, dataset and database design description of the system . In the fifth section; the Human Interface Design, which includes user interface and screen images. Finally, the sixth section includes a requirements matrix, which is a table that describes the system’s functions and status.

1.4 Intended audience

Patients and Dentists are among the stakeholders that might profit from this approach.
